CULTURAL ARCHITECTURE · SIDI BOUZID, TUNISIA
Museum of the
Revolution.
A competition proposal that translates collective memory and the pursuit of dignity into a powerful civic architectural gesture.
An architecture of
memory and renewal.
Located in Sidi Bouzid, where the Tunisian Revolution began, the museum proposal imagines a public institution dedicated to remembrance, learning and the shared historical memory of Tunisia.
The composition is deliberately monumental: fractured sculptural volumes evoke rupture and transformation. A tall, angular central opening brings light into the building, while an ascending stair leads visitors toward the entrance—a spatial metaphor for the pursuit of freedom and dignity.
A restrained mineral material language and a generous public forecourt give the project a civic presence. Spaces for gathering and contemplation link the proposal to the surrounding urban fabric.
- Collective memory and historical identity
- Fragmented volumes as an expression of change
- The ceremonial ascending entrance
- Public space for reflection and gathering
